Major: OMIS (Operations Management Information Systems)
Time: summer 2000
Company: Viba Fima Inc., an Internet start-up company
Position: Web developer.
How I got the internship: they got my name thru around 50 resumes
that I gave out during the Internship Fair and other events.
What I was done: I helped them create e-commerce websites with
dynamic contents. They assigned many small projects and provided extensive
training. It was a very good learning experience since I had the opportunity
to expose myself to many aspects of web development from coding practice to
web graphic design, and user behavior (which made me distinguished from
others.)
What I'd learned: HTML, Javascript, JScript, SQL, Transact-SQL, Windows
Script Host, ASP (Active Server Pages) and many other little but important
things.
A word from me to VSA members: it is your choice to make the decision
about your career; I want to share with you that web developers are in huge demand, and
the supply is just too little.
